5punk

I propose the following, and will do so later on today unless anyone would prefer me to do things differently.

I have a number of new forums I'd like to add to 5punk, so in order to do this I think it's time to get the 5punk house in order first.

1) Hide Advanced Dungeons & Rabbits from appearing on the forum list (until it goes live sometime later this ****....)
2) Remove Ragnarok Online and migrate all posts into Other Games section, stickying the ones that are important such as setting it up.
3) Hide Haxxor forum from ist until Joose wants me to add it back to the forum again

I'm up for suggestions on changing things round a bit, as the COD forum is hardly ever used nowadays, however there's not a lot else I can think fo that warrants it's own forum in the shooters or mmo category.

Also, suggestions for new "non-gaming" forums are also welcome, as 5punk has grown to a size, where I think non gaming forums may be useful, unlike the millions of gaming sites that have Film, Music, Sport etc... but never get used due to a low amount of active posting members.

I'm definitely interested in creating a Film/TV section for us all, and a music one (at a push) or combine them all into say an Entertainment forum.

There is now right or wrong way of doing this, which is why I'd like your input, to help make 5punk a more enjoyable place "as a forum", and not just specifically gaming.

5punk will always be an "online gaming community", but I feel it's now necessary to start looking at other forums to help gather interest and keep members posting.

Anyway, I'm rambling now, let me know what you think

yup, im fine with haxxor being hidden for the time being. As ive said, progress is sloow, so It would make sense to use the space for other things till theres something to actually talk about down there.

As far as the film etc idea goes, I think its a goodun, but I would put music with tv and film. Otherwise I can imagine the music forum being the very occasional post of someone saying "have you heard of this band?" and everyone replying "no".

As you said, call it entertainment or something. Maybe one day gaming will only be part of the 5punk community as a whole, but for now non-gaming stuff probably wouldn't attract enough posts to have more than one forum dedicated to it.

What with a number of RTS games coming out, would it be worth making a forum for that?
Alternatively merge RTS and RPG and make a beards forum?

A spammers' forum and invite them to only post their velly good jokes there?

An entertainment forum sounds like a good idea.

Entertainment forum also sounds good to me. Not sure about the RTS once since didn't we use to have one and it got turned into other games?

All very good ideas, I think I'll go ahead with the hiding/moving, and make an Entertainment forum.

Also I'll drop some of the less used Post Icons, and I'll need one for Music and one for TV/Films.
Perhaps headphones and a TV respectively would make good icons for the posts.

As for the Beards idea, I think we could wait and see if the need is great enough once these games are out, as Hehulk mentioned, we did have a strategy forum before, which ended up never having anything posted in it and moved into Other Games.

Get rid of that Eve forum, it makes the place look untidy.

How about someone adapting this to a mini Vlad with headphones, and a similar one with a TV screen with Vlad on?

I'm actually quite pleased with the music one, but the video one is a bit shit, and shouldn't really have TV due to films being covered as well.

What about a strip of film, or a video recorder?

On second thoughts, I think a seperate film icon would be good.
Still think you lot would come up with soemthign better, such as the maginificent shoutcast CDC icon
