So, on very halpful recommendation from this 'ere forum-type-thing I got myself a new shiny PC and a buttload of games. Stalker, COD4, Crysis and FC2

Now pressure at work has eased off a bit and the car is in the menders (OK, OK, it's an Alfa :ignore: :ignore: :ignore: ) I have taken 2 days off work. :boogie:

So, what am I doing? whoring mountainbike forums and replaying Freelancer

What the hell is wrong with me? I know i made a mistake and bought a butt load of FPS games instead of a broad spread of genres (but the reccs were almost all FPS) but bloody hell, I don't seem to have the attention span to play modern PC games! :faint:

Nothing's wrong there, good old games are often a lot more fun than modern ones, and as for forum whoring, play Freelancer instead.

/returns to replaying the Might and Magic series.

Oddly enough, I didn't get on all that well with any of the shooters you mentioned and I'd consider myself a fan of the genre.

Out of all of them (apart from STALKER, which I'd still like to try) the only one that really captured me was COD4 and even that was only the multiplayer. The single player seems pretty good but it didn't draw me back for more.

I'd advise downloading Ghostbusters :P

I enjoyed STALKER, though as Berk will tell you it's apparently much better with a mod or two slapped on it.

FC2 and Crysis were both amusing for a while, but there's little compulsion to grind your way to the end after you've played with each game's gimmicks for a while.

Less gimmicks, more gameplay please.

Get ARMA2? There seems to be a few 5punkers investing in a copy and it might provide a few hours or coop fun if it isn't horribly broken.

I'm thinking I'm possibly going for flashpoint two given it's shinier.

My PC could do with some work, but there are no games around that inspire me to do it. It runs Teef just fine and that's all I want to play. Perhaps Champions Online will be it. Am I doing it wrong?

Meanwhile, Ghostbusters on PS3.

Champions will run just fine on it.

COD: Modern COD 2 inspire you enough for a pc version?

Bit weird that a lot of big games are being released right now, but I haven't got much interest in any of them. I'm back playing the witcher, kotor, tower defence and mount and blade which has been released in a running beta format and to get it looking great needs a bit of work.

And then of course re-makes of the old games are making me glee more than most of the new stuff.

Champions does run, but I have to make it look a bit shit so I get a decent frame rate.

Modern COD 2 is not until November and I mostly use 360 for that these days. I'll probably get it on both console and PC. I can do quite well on consoles as there's a greater number of people worse than me.

It looks like someone hacked my xfire account and logged some Sims 3 time against it, how embarrassing.
