Yeah, I read up about this last time it was in the news feed.

Rockstar haven't got a clue. The second game wasn't brilliant but it was good enough, but this even if it's got fantastic gameplay and an awesome plot, just won't be a Max Payne game, it's not set in an American city for starters.

They should let Remedy handle it again, and more importantly, let their writers handle it, as according to WikiP, Sam Lake was the main writer for the first two, and he's not involved in this one. And who just happens to BE Max Payne anyway:
