Laptop upgrades

One of my mates has a
Toshiba Satellite P100-240 PSPA3E, which I think is standard other than an upgrade to 4GB ram (albeit on XP). He's said that he'd like to do more gaming on it, and whilst it'll run some stuff now, he was wondering if it's possible to upgrade the graphics card. I've never come across 3rd party laptop GFX cards, but then I've never had cause to look, so I thought I'd ask you guys here about them. Can it be done, and if so, what's good for up to £100?

It's possible in some very high end gaming laptops, which that one isn't.
Most laptops basically run onboard graphics with no viable expansion methods.

I tried googling and it was a bit ambiguous really, but all is clear now!

I heard things about an external graphics card a while ago, no idea if it actually got released or if it's any good though.
