I
will be getting one on release. It's the only console of this generation that interests me because it's trying to do something different. Also it's quite cheap.

I saw a demo video in Game the other day of Zelda being played with the Nunchuck controller on the Wii. Now I've never played Zelda before, and I've never really gone for Nintendo in the past - but fuck me it looked good!
From what I've seen so far it looks like the only console that has bothered to do something different.

This could be my first console purchase in a long long while. My last was a NES.
I might wait until after crimbo just to see how people like them.

The problem is that there's going to be a version for GC and Wii, which do I get? I have to get one of them but do I get the traditionally controlled version on the GC or risk possible gameplay damage with the weird Wii control system?
Although thinking about the Wii will support a traditional controller so might have the best of both.

i dont think the gameplay will be damaged by the controller, i'd say more influenced by it (im expecting this from most titles because, as with the DS, nintendo will be looking to prove they have something the competition doesnt)

/cancels Zelda GameCube pre-order
/places new order...
This am all of teh win.
Also, SD memory for the motherfucking win, finally non-proprietary (and copy/hackable) memory sticks!
Fuck Sony, fuck 'em right in the ass. Instead of spending six months grinding my teeth as US and Japanese people say how ace the PS3 is, I shall flip them off with my Wii-mote.

*probably won't be buying any of the next gen consoles*
Console gaming kind of died for me a couple of years ago, and I'm not really that interested in any of the games for the Wii/PS3/360.

This could well be me, I'm waiting on what happens, and if any, it will be the Wii.. but this depends on the games it has.. but Christmas may be the cheapest time for it, as everyone goes mental trying to "outdeal" each other. Ah well, I guess it comes down to if I have any money for myself then.. and as a 'student' thats a no
