What would be the best possible set up for raptors, on a Rig purely for gaming with 4sata plugs.

Best possible would be fucking stupid.
I'd suggest a pair of raptor 150s, not raided.

But what would it be?

it'd be 4 raptors in RAID0
but the performance bonus wouldn't be enough to warrant doing it probably.

i have 2 raptor 150s, in raid 0 and the performance is good, but not amazingly better than the individuals. also, you have more of a risk of failure, and having 4 raided is gonna make very little difference above the 2 id say.

i think the ideal performance, but still sensible option would be 2 raptors in raid 0, a bigass storage drive (500gb maybe) and a spare sata socket for a hddvd/blu ray drive when they get cheap.
that way you get decent performance, masses of storage and possible expansion

2 150GB Raptors in RAID 0 + 1 750GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10.
The new Seagates are kick ass drives. Not only are they ginormous, but they're the fastest 7200RPM drives anywhere. I got the 320GB version for about $100.
