Union Flag inside a George Cross

I'm hoping one of our 5punkers in the horses can help me out with this one.

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a George Cross flag with a Union Flag in one of the corners?

I have seen this outside a barracks somewhere I think, and I really want to get hold of one to fly outside my house during sporting events and St. Georges day and so on...

Would I be able to order it online, or would one of you have to go climbing across rooftops, ripping down a flag, and then be thrown in London Tower and have the keys thrown away for some ancient law against nicking flags in the military

The other option I suppose is finding a company that make custom flags

That would be a Royal Navy ensign, £5.95 from here:

You may find a lot of sailors turning up WEY, especially if you leave a red light on in the window! The dangers of living in Bristol...

You could save yourself the fiver though by just nicking one off the back of one of our ships!
I must warn you that flying the ensign off station might upset the navy so...good idea, do it! :likesitall:

Since 1864 the White Ensign has officially protected in law for the Royal Navy, anyone wanting to fly it needs permission from the Admiralty.

Tho i'm not sure anyone would actually give a toss unless you tried to mount an invasion of France flying one. More likely they'd join in on the invasion narf.

Hooray for patriotically breaking the law

Had a feeling there would be some stupid old law regarding flying it, but I think it looks great, and it kind of resembles my level of patriotism

English first, British second, but proud to be both.

I don't want to fly 2 flags, so just the one is a great idea, allthough I'm slightly worried about the sailor attraction.

from an ex-horses mate:

What you are describing there sounds like a White Ensign.

There appears to be a huge one on eBay* at the moment, but they are easyly found in small varieties, if he is happy with man made fibres.

It is the flag of the Navy now, although it started life as a Squadron flag and enjoyed some noteriety as Nelson flew it.

If I can help further then please ask. It has the advantage over the Union Jack of being much harder to get the wrong way up.

Thanks for that, but I think the missus would go nuts if I flew a flag that big in front my house.

Think I'll order one once I've moved in, but at least I know where to get some now.
