Basically I've finally managed to get rid of my old hosting company, rythmes with 'dataflame', by changing my card details.
Soooooo, I'm currently looking for a new hosting company that do .co.uk,are reliable and can host al manner of fun things like SQL and shops.
Any suggestions?

Well, me?
I don't have a price list, but tell me what you want and I'll quote you.
It's a proper company, with proper servers, etc.
Also offering VPS soon, if that floats your boat.
Can offer static IPs for SSL
Currently we host using Lighttpd / MySQL (Lighttpd is better* than Apache - no reason we couldn't run Apache too tho I suppose.)
*lightweight, simpler

If fear's kit sounds too posh, you can stick us on the list too. We do lots of hosting for not much cash.
Some details are here on the old website:
http://www.rewshosting.com/
But that is a little out of date, and I'm feeling generous.
Tell me what you need and what bandwidth you think you will use, and if its not excessive you can just have an account.

I use 4uhosting.co.uk.
Their basic package has two database slots, and a load of one-click-install gadget things like shops and blogs.

Holy fuck, they're still going?
My old web host guy had to teach the kid who owned 4U how to set freebsd up.
I still like dreamhost for cheap, pretty reliable hosting, s'not the best in the world uptime wise, but mostly it's fine.

I use
http://www.one.com/
First year is "free", you only pay £9 set-up. After that it's 90p per month plus domain name fee.
They seem pretty good, although I'm only really using the website as a place holder atm.

I'm a big fan of HE.net, have been using them for 10 years.

Crikey, I didn't know that any of you guys were running proper servers, er well I need a domain .co.uk facilities for e-mail and a place to host a shop. Bandwidth wise I have no real idea yet. Hopefully will-make-mikkyo-a-very-rich-man amount of bandwidth.

Should be no problemo. Do you know what shopping cart system you want to use?
If its any use, my system has built in support for this lot:
http://www.zen-cart.com/
http://www.oscommerce.com/
http://www.cubecart.com/
http://www.agoracart.com/
You can set any of them up in a matter of seconds. But pretty much anything that runs on php/perl and mysql should work fine as well.
I doubt you will want to handle credit card payments directly, but just in case you want to make parts of your site more secure, free shared SSL server access is included. If you want your own custom SSL certificates that can be arranged but there are charges.
if you like i can sort out a demo account so you can test out the email, control panels, etc etc.
Let me know if you want any more info.

So, Mikkyo, what's this cunning plan you're hatching?
