i paid £25 for guildwars, and got *looks* nearly 500 hours out of it.

ergo, guildwars wins on a cost per hour basis (that and not being elite without the skill)

Can you build a space station in Guild wars? And is everyone in the world on the same server? I'd not have met the likes of the 5punkers if I were a WoW person, hence one of my biggest joy's from Eve!

Then I'll start bringing up avgerages about the player base age? Or I can go find some figures for Wow subscription numbers? If it's down to 450K subs, that's one hell of a drop from it's peak of 4 mil. EVE hasn't had a subscription drop off (yet). Also, it's a 4 year old game, yet still it grows.

But those all act as one super-computer. Hence cluster, as you said. Also Anything you do on eve happens in one game world (as you do well know).

Personally, i like computer games where i can interact with stuff to some level, eve is no different to, say, drugwars, apart from having to pay, and putting up with other (sub)humans.

Now... if you could actually fly in eve, it might just be a good game, but you can't so it isn't

Uh huh, So WOW? Didn't we already cover that, with your numbers and blizzards press releases. Frozen throne is a blizzard game. There's a shock that's it's popular (and as a side note, I prefere reign of chaos, up until the night elves section). Guild wars is free, aside the initial purchase. I'm both shocked and appaled that people play a free game. What's the world comming to!!!

Also, just to be clear, guildwars is the last game i'd bring into it, it's a totally different business model, game type, and customer base to a classic mmporg like WoW or eve, but some dumbass mentioned it, so it got used to make a point (warcrapt 3 because some dumbass tried the age card)

oops, missed that. Right, manual flight in eve? It's quite possible. Just not with a joystick or keyboard. That would be very nice yes, but it's not really required. Most players would sooner see POS fixed, lag fixed (damn 250 VS 250 fleets), more empire content, more 0.0 content.

So you're saying, while eve gets lots of new content (which i never disputed) the underlying game is crapped out, lacking any "classic" flight abilities (required or not, it'd bring some enjoyment into it for people who enjoy to use skills in combat, not big fuckoff automated kill-sticks)

And I never said, or or intended to infered, that I think the eve game mechanics are broken, though now I'm on the subject the way transvercal works in broken. That needs fixing.

Anyway, we know your position on eve. Think all of 5punk does. Why flame away? Fear was just attempting to show that he's a fan of this game enough to pay for it.
