I had to settle with 720p, I can't fit 1080p on my screen!

Looks good.
I'm a bit retiscent about the "forget the past" line. Is it hinting that the original films or the recent Sarah Connor Chronicles are somehow irrelevant, or didn't happen? Perhaps it's just the same thing where each time Judgement Day is averted it changes history, I hope so, because as a fan of all the stories nothing turns me off quicker than some newcomer poo-pooing what's gone before, or some dreadful 'war of authenticity' between franchise holders.
Anyway, nice to see something set after Judgement Day for a change, even if it did look a bit Mad Max.

That looks FUN!
Will go see methinks.
I think "forget the past" is more of a dig at how people will compare it to the previous rather than by it's own merits.
The storyline in the series is kind of flexible, but there's set events, that being Judgement Day, that have to happen for everything else to happen, so they can't ignore it.

Holy fuck that looks amazing.
With regards to 'Forget the past', time travel has been used in the previous films so it must therefore have had an effect on this future ('Judgment Day' itself doesn't happen until much later than previously stated), so there are bound to be some continuity anomalies.

I suspect this is an exaggeration and would postulate that the author has not actually tried this for a truly accurate comparison.

this.

It won't be as bad as what I've heard your mum is! And I heard she's bad! In a good way!
In reality I know nothing of your mother, I won't judge her until I meet her (which is an almost impossibility) and I shall apply that to this film. It looks good as a bangy, explodey, bit of talky film. Terminator has never been blessed with a heavy and meaningful series of soliloquies, cathartic character introspection etc so why start now?

Well, best way I have heard the sereis described, including the new one, is thus:
1 - Horror Film
2 - Action Film
3 - Action comedy
4 - War film
It looks like it'll be a decent film for a beer and pizza night, but as pete said, the films have never been about high art, so why start now?

God damn this. Why are people expecting a Shakespearean Terminator all of a sudden?

and they stole T3 from us by making it

They owe us
look at it this way. It's 1984 I'm 14 and this bloody amazing movie (T1) is released.
They make us wait 7 years for the follow up and bugger me if it isn't almost better than the first

. Scifi geek heaven
Then another 12 years till the next one and we're all so keen till we see the trailer and it's clear that this is a Governator vanity project, and we just feel so fucking cheated, especialy as the actual plot was moved on by the movie
then it becomes a TV franchise, that I really haven't got on with, too many obvious visual cues from the first 2 movies (summer Glau standing stock still by the window all night with a shotgun over her shoulder in one of the first episodes just made me want to puke, it was so patronising and tedious) although perhaps it's just trying too hard and I haven't given it the time (seen the first 4 eps I think)
Now No.4 is coming and they appear to take the Franchise seriously again and bring in the one guy we know can save any franchise after what he did for batman, which would be a whole load of FUCK YEAH if it happens.
High expectations? Bloody right. Almost certainly they will be dashed against the harsh rocks of reality (Alien 4, anyone?)
I want TERMINATORS and I want them NOW
so, anyone seen it yet, I haven't been bothered enough

Put it this way, it's not as bad as T3.

You lie, it's rubbish.
It's got some good action sequences and special effects, but there's not much suspense involved. Bale puts on another stupid voice. Just watch T2 again, it's much the same, except better.

I watched T2 again recently, and god damn if that isn't the perfect action movie. And Robert Patrick and Ah-nold as Terminators is the best casting of anything ever.
