Favorite Passwords: "1234" and "Password"
A statistical analysis of 28,000 stolen passwords showed that many people are inept when it comes to choosing a password. If your password is something as lame as 1234 (or anything else that easy), youll get no sympathy from anyone when you get hacked.

It found that 16 percent took a first name as a password, often their own or one of their children, according to the study published by Information Week. Another 14 percent relied on the easiest keyboard combinations to remember such as "1234" or "12345678." For those using English keyboards, "QWERTY", was popular.

What was your first password, that you don't use anymore? I still use mine in a modified form, so I'm not telling, but other deprecated ones include noriko, guyver, tenchi, and omaru - so basically 80's anime characters.

I need to retire my password actually, been using it for far too long and while it's very secure it's always good to change once in a while

Hmm, my oldest is probably my hotmail password which hasn't been changed since 2001, it's just two words and isn't alphanumeric, but it's only used for that one thing anyway.

My other 4/5 passwords are all alphanumeric to a varying degree, and nothing overly common or obvious.

My first password was mono. I got rage when they introduced 6-letter-minimum passwords around websites. So I made a 6 letter one that isn't much more secure.

Still use it.

Mine was goosebumps when I was <10 years old, since I used to read goosebumps books. I think I accidentally typed it into a username field once and some one saw so I had to change it.

I've had various other passwords between then and now but I've only recently decided to use strong passwords with upper and lower case, punctuation and numbers.

I make up words to use for passwords :D

i have a variety, but about half of them are based upon the admin password for my primary school acorn network, which i had aquired. at the time it was the only thing i had learnt to type quick enough that nobody saw.

I have ten passwords that I use every day, 5 in work on the systems and 5 for my own accounts at various websites. Each has alphanumeric sequence and most have case change too. I also use 3 more for various admin dobbers that berk put me on.

First password used for any length of time was 'stell4Art0is' and my hint to remember it was of course wifebeater.

Scarily, I'm still using my first proper passwords, just upgraded a little over the years with added numbers and symbols.

Apart from bukkake, that's a 10 char random string that I'll never remember.

Well, my first password was the MD5 hash for "cock", until I got bored of trying to type it correctly and changed it to what is my current password, an about 20 characters mix of werds, numbahs and symbowls.

Only 10? Shoulda used 26!

unfortunately I do have to use the password sometimes

I use 3 variations on the same set of 3 alphanumeric trinumerals borrowed of the MOD password generator for all regular website sign ups - that way I know I'll type the correct one before getting locked out.

Anything that actually requires security and isn't just a mechanism for forum bot prevention (like online banking), get's special treatment.

I have no idea what my first was. I do have a password which I've been using for many years and for many non-essential things and I'm not telling you.

I think my first password was Red5, but it was too short for a lot of things. I did use AIDScannon for a bit at work.

My first password was f049623099

It was my freeserve dial-up one.

Not been used for 10+ years now, but still remember it.

You know, I'm not sure.

Knowing me though, it was probably something along the lines of "boobs".

The current password for the wireless in our place used to be "nippleclamps" until the mrs complained.
