Actually I've been mostly eating ill-conceived, unoriginal MMO designs.
NWN2, though - while it may be a little bit late to the online fantasy game party can't really be faulted for lack of originality, given that at its core is the tabletop game which inspired most of the clones.
Not that NWN2 is an MMO, if it's like its predecessor it is an RPG with a cooperative multiplayer element. I'm glad the beta is focussing on the multiplayer aspect, as that was the part which didn't work so well in the original - one flaw being in my opinion to use an internet game browser which looked as if it was taken straight out of an FPS.

all of the above.
Games that are licenced are kinda exempt from needing to be original. They aren't trying to be original, they are trying to make D&D into a good game.
I enjoyed NWN immensely. Frankly, if all they did was take NWN and buff up the graphics I would be happy. Having said that, I only ever played the mulitplayer over LAN, so the browser and such wasnt really an issue.

From the screenshots, it looks like they've fixed my main beef with the original - the psuedo-isometric view, and the focus on rectangular dungeons.
I always found the camera controls a little clunky compared to the sleek operation of WoW, DS and GuildWars, which I can just jump between without having to go through the tutorial again after an absence.
Some of those games, along with many others including Eve kind of re-invented mouse camera control such that clicking once to interact directly, but holding mouse buttons down to spin your view seems totally natural, rather than relying on a third mouse button or other keys.
