Gaming Rules

I think my understanding of the 5punk gaming rules is flawed. I know we don’t sign a legally binding contract or give blood to be members of this informative yet mildly amusing gaming community, however, I feel that the rules that are there are more of a Gentleman’s' agreement.

On the last scheduled game of CoD4 (Wed 20th Jan) I didn't play particularly well, I had a few nice head shots against Chickenz but it seemed I was only getting killed be one person repeatedly.

This would not normally be a concern. I would normally change tactics and rape them. However, on this occasion the person in question went by the name of Cat Boots. I have no Idea who this was as I was not on TS.

The Reason this angered me is because Cat Boots was being a NOOB TUBING FUCKING CU*T

Please refrain from this unsportsmanship gaming style Cat Boots

Many Thanks

Jew.

You've pretty much got the gist spot on there. There's always been an unwritten agreement that people don't play in a way that will spoil the game for others. There's the rest of the internet for that. It's a vague thing, and it's that way deliberately so that we can play in the spirit of a good humoured game without having to resort to rules and the enforcement of them. However, people being deliberately unsportsmanlike, particularly after this whole COD thing that's pretty much ruined the game for many of us, is not on. The bottom line is, play nice on 5punk servers, or don't play on them at all. If you're not sure how that works, I'm sure Berk can issue a few bans to clarify.

I've had enough of this.

Any more shit like this in cod4 will win you a whole one warning, then you win a ban from cod4 for as long as it takes for you to learn.

What the fucking shit.

Berk, just change the rule to NO grenade launching at all, please. There was absolutely nothing excessive about what I was doing, it'd be easier if you just had an absolute rule rather than a hazy rule that allows people to whine no matter what I do.

No.

How about you just don't use a grenade launcher at all, and we'll let people who are capable of being reasonable and obeying the rules do so.

or just don't play at all, either way is fine by me.

edit: we've never needed any rules in the past, we've always been pretty capable of being nice and playing as fairly as possible while not turning into the special olympics, I'm not going to enforce a whole fucking pile of rules because you're too childish to play within the spirit and idea of 5punk.

Look, before this turns into another argument about COD let me explain. It isn't about grenade launchers, and it isn't about how anyone in particular plays. It's simply about not causing people to stop playing the game because they're not enjoying it. It started to happen in BEEF, and we stopped playing it completely. It happened even more in COD and we're only tenuously hanging onto it. The only rule is, try to have some consideration for the other people playing the game. This rule isn't directed at Shada, nor anyone else specifically, it applies to everyone and it's pretty much the basis for the whole community.

Please, everybody, just take it on board and don't turn the whole thing into a flame war.

Oh dear.

I haven't seen Shada noobtube all that much at all, from what I've seen I have just as much right to be banned as he does, since I've noobtubed a couple of times as well.
And besides, this is 5punk, not "the rest of the internet".

Let's just end it at what Dog Pants said, he is 5punker of the year.
