WoW 3.0.8 Patch notes.

Post by Dr. kitteny berk »

Things of interest:
# Players may now create death knights on any realm once they reach level 55.

# Racial restrictions on mounts have now been lifted. Night Elves on mechanostriders? Tauren on raptors? You're not seeing things.

# We have added over 60 new graveyards to Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms.

Raise Dead has now been split into two spells:

* Raise Dead now raises a ghoul or pet ghoul (if talented). Requires corpse dust if no humanoid corpse is nearby.
* Raise Ally now raises a fallen party member as a ghoul and has no reagent. Available at level 72. This should now last for 4 minutes.

Summon Gargoyle: Damage dealt by the Gargoyle reduced by approximately 20% and maximum duration cut to 30 seconds.

Shaman

* All shaman talent points have been refunded. Please visit your trainer to learn spells and abilities.

Mining

* Mining veins and deposits no longer require multiple hits to receive all the ore. Players will receive around the same amount of ore, stone, and gems they would have received from multiple hits.

Alchemy

* The Cooldown on Transmute: Titanium has been reduced to 1 day, and the materials required have been simplified.

In theory, if you could be be bothered to get Exalted just for one alternative mount. Repeat for other faction for their racial mount.

/edit
I'm assuming that's the restriction they are removing of course.

No I think it's the size one, so tauren's couldn't ride chickens cos they were too big, only gnomes (and dwarves?) could ride the mechanical ones cos they're the only ones small enough etc

Bah, that's crap.

What's the smallest/highest comedy mount then? I think we need a competition of big riders, little animals in strange places! It's like anti-horse racing! I can't take part but I will make encouraging comments and lol at them.

That'd probably be a tauren on a homobird, and I'm already working on it :)

Because they have messed about with the Talent tree again most likely...

I now remember why I stopped playing a shaman, they couldn't leave us alone for 2 patches

Win. If I could have asked for one thing, this would be it. Perhaps the first stage of a move to allowing DKs for all - which would be great for any 5punkers just starting but put off by the 1-55 levelling.
# Racial restrictions on mounts have now been lifted. Night Elves on mechanostriders? Tauren on raptors? You're not seeing things.
I shall make a Dranei DK and kick the crap out of Gnomeregan forthwith.
# We have added over 60 new graveyards to Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms.
DKs don't need these, but my druid visits them often.

I think that's a removal of the effect you got much earlier, but it was a bit annoying when you cast it by mistake.
Summon Gargoyle: Damage dealt by the Gargoyle reduced by approximately 20% and maximum duration cut to 30 seconds.
Boo. DKs are very slightly less awesome.
* All shaman talent points have been refunded. Please visit your trainer to learn spells and abilities.
A free respec, or a pain in the arse?
* Mining veins and deposits no longer require multiple hits to receive all the ore. Players will receive around the same amount of ore, stone, and gems they would have received from multiple hits.
This is good - should respawn quicker if people spend less time at them, and visiting lots should be sped up too.
* The Cooldown on Transmute: Titanium has been reduced to 1 day, and the materials required have been simplified.
The cooldown was more than a day? Harsh.

Also should help deal with node oddities, especially in icecrown which has loads of phased areas, so 2 people can end up on the same node unable to see each other.

That and it'll vastly speed up my money farming :)

pfft, no. They have lessened the gargoyle, but they have improved them in a whole bunch of other crazy ways. Healing effects from a bunch of the blood abilities have been doubled (!) and the frost presence bonus to your armour has gone from 60% to 80% (!!), amongst other things.

Unless they've done something nice to the talent tree, the latter. I only finished tweaking my build last week at the cost of about 50g (fucking talent tree needs a 'back' button or something).
FatherJack wrote:The cooldown was more than a day? Harsh.
Was about three I think. It made the titanium market fairly tight - I was making maybe 20g profit from a bar. Unless saronite and cobalt prices drop accordingly then there'll probably be no profit in them any more because there'll be three times as much of it out there.
