Good morning! And it
is a good morning here at the Rock, Paper, And Shotgun Gazette, because we have the trailer for Mafia 2 after the jump. While the trailer itself shows little more than goodfellas having a good time, fans of the original will know what to expect from Illusion Softworks open-world gangsterism: stylish action, period atmosphere, and horrendous violence. Of course it was one of those games that caused some debate - its brokenness conjured some frowns and spawned many grumbles - but that's no reason to think that this sequel, due Autumn 2009, isn't worth following. it's a game that has just as many ardent fans. We'll hopefully have an interview with the developers for you in the new year.

Shineh. First one was great, the car handling sucked and they were barely faster than a sprinting wise guy, made chases so much better.

I thought the first game was awesome, though I had to use the cheaty shortcut to win the race. There were some insane hidden hot-rod cars in it as well as some cars that couldn't even make it up the steep hills. I think it took me two years to complete it.

The first was a brilliant game, buggy as hell in places, but very fun, quite unforgiving in places and had a great varied storyline.
The first definitely falls in the hidden gem category that holds games like Giants: Citzen Kabuto and Crimson Skies (original pc version).
I'm not watching the video for this, I'm just going wait for it to hit the shops and buy it when it's out next year.

I suffered from a gangster overdose in the late '90s and have never recovered.

Ill be more than happy if this is just an upgraded, less buggy version of the first game which was chuffing excellent. Especially if they took whoever suggested the racing level out back and shot them.

I enjoyed the racing level. I'm not going to defend it as it was frustrating, but it was one of the most terrifying races I've had on a video game because you never knew if you were going to die or not when you approached a bend.

The racing level did have entertainment value, in a burnout-esque oh god look how far I rolled this time sort of way, but for someone admitedly shit at it like me actually getting to the next bit of the story was a kick in the cock because of it
