I had a look at my first character which i have had for a year, and she had a birthday present in the inventory, which when unwrapped, became a miniture pet troll

My character's old enough, but has been inactive for about that long, so, no.

none of mine are old enough to have a pet yet

i still have mine actually, anyone wanna go hunting with snowballs

I got two of them, a mini hydra and a mini jade armor. It was when they were first awarding the pets, so I sold mine off for an insane amount of money.
