HELP

I must be a fucking tard! Don't know what i'm doing really. I am trying to overclock my Slow Ass CPU but with very little sucess (none infact).

When I hit F10 and save in the Bios the stupid black box Powers down, Powers up and then keeps Shitting Itself, so i'm obviously doing something wrong.

I have read numerous articles on various sites and forums but just cant get my thick head arround it.

Can some one please write me a complete IDIOTs guide to this very simple process !!!

System Info - http://img186.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... ilsas7.jpg

Many thanks :)

P.S. I know buying a new CPU would be easier !!

Given it's a decent asus mobo, does it not have an overclocking tool on the CD? that'd certainly be the easiest way to do it.

Yes, this - http://img223.imageshack.us/my.php?image=aisuitege6.jpg

But not 100% on how to use it properly.

turn the cpu frequency up slowly, like, 5-10 at a time. then run orthos on blend mode

repeat until orthos fails.

then, if you're feeling brave, you can go into your bios, and set the cpu freq manually (might be called frontside bus or fsb)

You may need to increase the CPU voltage to keep it stable at higher frequencies. Intel's website says 1.5v is the max voltage for your processor but keeping it as low as possible is best. You want to keep your load temperature at 60C maximum as well.

That one's crap, for some reason it's more expensive than a Q6600 yet slower. Get yourself a Q6600.

:above: make sure it's a G0 Q6600, not a b3 (they all should be by now, but it's worth mentioning)
