5punk

One of our coolest and more exciting traditions is the startup isk donations.
Since we're a large and time-zone diverse group, I suggest we post here when the startup donations are made, to avoid some players getting 10 mil and the terrible possibility of a player getting none and hearing about another player getting theirs.

(It also keeps us from having to ask "Did somebody give you some isk" in game!)

As a new member I will enact my priveledge to be ignorant....

I Like the concept, what does it involve exactly? ever1 chips into a pool then it get distrubuted amont members? Who is eligible for the ISK? can only ISK be donated?

I would like to help out but dont know anything of this tradition, clarification appreciated.

It's nothing special. We just always bung 500k at new members when they join the corp - since all, or nearly all our recruits have been new players. Usually comes from anyone who remembers to do it first. Kinda of a 'welcome to 5punkorp' thing (and ofc a damn good bumming )

I bunged 1mil to Simon Trent although he didn't quite need it. He was already up to 2.75mil from mishs. Hope he stays...he's doing quite well on his own.

He joined on the agreement that he didn't really know what he wanted form the corp, so I persuaded him to come give us a try and if he didn't really like it here then he knew a bit more about what he wanted from a corp. That said I don't think we're gona lose him

I've been talking to him alot...he's from my homestate of Michigan, USA !

His trial ends thursday and he's gonna subscribe saturday night after he's done with RL crap.

Hopefully he'll stick around.

I sent Lyklon Jin 500k isk. He didnt seem to get the "Fw4ppers" part but gets the 5punk. You might wanna explain to one of your own...

Anyways, I gave him the 5punk website/Xfire info. Seems, to be interested and moving along. He started with combat, doing a bit of mining and talking about science/industry.

Maybe offer the startup isk for when they register with 5punk(Introduce Yourself)/Xfire? And if they don't take the bait, good chance they won't be around anyways and saves us isk and time.
