Website design ideas

Okay, I've been struggling to find the time to redesign 5punk, and I'm at a halfway house, but I don't really like the outcome.
I definitely want to use the top header of this forum as a top header of the website, so ideas for layout of the main page would be greatly appreciated.
Could I combine any of the pages (the top right hand links) into one?
A quick squiggly drawing in paint/potatoshop would suffice, but I've always offered 5punkers input when working on 5punk, so here's your chance to have your say.
P.S. I'm doing away with the news page, as I really can't be assed to update it, and I think the first page people see when visiting the main site should be like the "About" page, or atleast contain a quick bit of text explaining what we are all about.

This mostly
If you're too busy to change anything, why bother, plus I don't think it needs fixing, I likes it, mmm precious 5punky site designs.
With the exception of the new buttonage, sort of works on my big monitor, but at work it's all squashed. I think maybe make the buttons bigger and have 2 rows?
Oh, and was there a button for the Scheduler?, has it dissapeared?

There'll be no wheel reinventing on my watch!
From previous discussions I think WEY is referring to improvements not anything completely new. I'll have a think about it ...

Just incase you are all getting confused, I am talking about the webshite, not the forum. Forget the forum, the forum is complete, I want to redesign the website, as the front page with it's antiquated news section reflects badly on n00bs who are visiting for the first time.

^this. I say drop the news thing entirelly. Its kinda redundant, seeing as anything important will get posted to the forum anyway.
Random idea I have just had:
How about making it kinda like a condensed version of everything in the forum. Like an overview type thing. It could show, say, the next two sheduled games, the 10 most recent threads (just the titles, obviously), the last three posts to the discussion board, etc. Or something like that, anyway.
Would also be handy if it were formated for the psp and suchlike, as poncy gits like myself could then quickly check to see if theres anything interesting going on thats worth hunting a proper computer down for.
Just a thought.

And a rather cracking one at that Mr Joose
THIS, is why I like to ask members for suggestions as I now have a fannytastical idea.

Aaaah. Hmm.
Request 1: No frames.
TeamSpack could go on the server page, couldn't it? I'm just wondering if, instead of the rooms list on the front page, there could just be some indication of whether there's anyone in or not.
edit:

Haha! I found out some code to choose a stylesheet for PSPs the other day. Christ.

Hmm. The download site is timing out for me. Plus, that mod needs another, bigger mod for it to run!
Thanks though, it's given me an idea.

I've fudged the main site for now, and got rid of the news page to tide us over till the magical codery is completed.

Here is a quick squiggly drawing I made earlier.

I thought that some bits could contain live(ish) data about what's happening on the board, stats, or the first line of posts. I'm not sure news should be as prominent as I've drawn it though, as it isn't updated that often.
