Ok i ve got my new telly rigged up to the pc and ive tried to play beef and source to no avail. Source will boot up before the telly pops up all black and says Mode not supported, ive checked the manual back to front and have no idea what to do.
Beef on the other hand goes to boot up but then the screen says auto adjusting and it goes straight back to desktop. Oblivion has worked fine so why wont these 2 games?
Ne help would be buch appreciated.

Could try:
1: Reset the resolution in the games to 800x600, try it on the new telly.
or
2: Buy a monitor, not a TV

The TV manual should list supported resolutions and refresh rates, shouldn't it?

I had a problem where my onboards gfx wouldnt support a resolution. A reinstall of said game would reset settings. Or check the forums for the game to see if theres a way to reset settings.

what berk said,
or plug your old monitor in and change the resolution
Edit: for beef you might need to do it here aswell
My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\Video.con VideoSettings.setResolution 1024x768@60Hz
I suspect the maximum res for your TV is 1366 x 768

"Mode not supported" is always when you are trying to run the system at a higher resolution/refresh rate than the screen can cope with.
What resolution are you running the PC at through your Telly?

1360x768 is its native resolution.
