Well I mentioned it a while ago, but can't remember who was interested as the post disappeared down into the depths of the Discussion Board. Anyway, I've now set up a new fantasy football league on the http://fantasy.premierleague.com/ website. If you haven't got a team on this site, sign up and put your team together, and then you'll need this code to join the league: 65732-290911 which you enter on this page once you've put together your team.

It's fairly straight-forward to put it together, but ask away if you have any problems. Due to the internationals at the weekend, the next gameweek for the premier league starts on 18 October, so you have a while to get your team together and join the league.

Post on here if you're interested so I know who to pester when they haven't signed up by the 16th.

I always suck really badly at these.

I play Fantasy Tennis over at http://eurosport.yahoo.com. Never really got into Football.

And you overseas minority people don't tell us how to say football!

I've never played Fantasy [Sport x] because I've always assumed that you needed some knowledge about [Sport x] to work with. Is this the case or is it more to do with comparing numbers?

I did play Championship Manager for a little while, mind.

Last time I played one of these I was at work and I got my mum to pick my team. I could just about pick Beckham out of a line up, but no other footballer.

Funnily enough my team did really well and pasted a lot of those sad cunts that spent all lunch break comparing teams and players, whilst reading The Sun's sports section. I just ignored my team for the remainder of the season, or whatever arbitrary period of time it was, I forget.

Bit of both really. I've played similar games by working out relative values of each player and buying the bets team from that. I was soaring into the lead until transfer season, then my lack of game knowledge dropped me to the bottom of the league.

In this one I've just hit the random button, and might make transfers if and when I can be bothered.

I don't know very much about football but quite enjoy this game.

Last year I picked a few players I thought might be good (Because I'd heard of them) then used 'auto-fill' which is a nice feature of this particular version.

I didn't change my team for the first 4 months last year and was top of our work league for about 3. I started making changes then did really rubbish

Soccer is a British word too. And I'd say it involves more skill than any game involving four hundred pound men leaning on each other for a few minutes then slapping each other in the face and shouting things like 'it's all you baby!' and 'who the man!'.

Reality of it is that American *airquotes* footballers *airquotes* aren't all wife killing, drug taking, philandering, fat useless bastards and Rest of the World footballers aren't all hooker banging, stupid, vicious, diving jessies, unfortunately the bad ones are the most famous.

Rugby is still best.

Well I can't speak for UK, but over here we sometimes have barely legals in less clothes.

To be honest, I quite like the banter about who's on form and who isn't etc etc, although with my mates living miles away we do it via email. However, it just adds to the banter and makes it all a bit more fun. There's no point in treating it at Serious Business, but it does make watching Match of the Day more interesting as you suddenly have an vested interest in all sorts of random players doing well. My problem is I can't often remember who is in my team!

No Reading players this year Lat? Gutted ;p
