Help with a CD Drive

Hello all.
My CD drive has given up the ghost, it seems.
I currently have a LG GSA-4167BAL connected up to my <a href="https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprod ... erboard.

Being a void of knowledge when it comes to all things hardware I decided to buy a new Asus DRW-2014S1T.
Spot the fatal flaw in my plan.

One is IDE, the other is SATA.
Completely different connectors at the back. I only discovered this when attempting to line up the cables that had come out of the previous drive. Whoops. Durr.

Anyway.
Long question short; Can I use this drive with my mobo, and if so what cable do I need? Ta.

I've had this problem with HDDs when I bought a mobo that only had SATA connections. I had to buy new hard drives :(

Answer: Yes, but it will require you to spend another £20-30 quid on a pci sata expansion card.

As it's overclockers, explain it to them that it's the wrong port and that you're a numpty, and ask if they'll do this one in exchange:

I personally like Pioneer drives, and the price is identical and it even reads a whole 10ms faster!!11!
Edit: Remember, current mobo is an IDE based board!

Mega edit:

You've 4x SATA ports on that motherboard, go into the box, grab a SATA cable and connect it all up.

*slow blink*

First thing grimmie, how many sata drives do you have connected to your mobo? if the number is less than 4, yes, it'll work fine with no fucking about.

Thanks Buzz :)

Edit
Just the hard drive at the moment.

Just the cables that fit, I imagine a sata power cable (your psu should have loads)

and one of the little orange SATA cables that came with the mobo.

if you're stuck for either, PM me, i have loads of both about.

Plug into the obvious places (the back of the dvd drive, and the data cable into the mobo, any hole) and enjoy.
