i was just wondering if anybody knew the reason for the down time

It usually happens when they release the downloads for the update that occurs almost every Thursday.
You should find that you downloaded the latest update tonight, but it won;t apply till tomorrow.

It's just one of those things narf, and it doesn't happen that much

My in-game popups didn't seem to work after I started it again, which is why I may have ignored a couple of people.
