My son needs an essay done for GCSE so i can't be too good but it needs to be up to standard. The details of the essay are below.

Exploration of diffrent treatments of the spy genre in "Goldeneye" and "Austen Powers I.M.O.M" (Title)

Introdution:
1) Explore the classic features of the spy genre and metion the diffrence between thye two films.
2) Who is the target audience of the two films?
3) Why is the opening of the film so important?

Main Section of Essay:
1) "Goldeneye"- give some background to the film (who directed it, Names of the main actors and the facts thats it is a classic bond - Everything You'd expect in a bond filmect)
2) Explains what happens, BRIEFLY, in the opening of the film .
3) Analyse the opening using media termonology, exploring how effective the opening is as a spyfilm. This includes an analysis of the characters himself. (charcacter, costume etc)
4) Do the same with Austen Powers.

Conclusion:
Sum up the key diffrences and explain which opening audiences might prefer.

How old is your son?

If he is under 15 you should write a letter of complaint as Goldeneye is a UK 15 classification.

That looks pretty simple. The question tells you exactly what to write, IMDB will do that rest. Could have it done in half an hour.

Hmm, shouldn't your son be doing the thing instead of asking for help from dear ol' dad?

After all, it's his education not yours.

Both of the above comments. Sounds quite easy, just watch the opening scenes of both, making points on the similarities/differences etc etc.

Then drop some usual BS about you need to captivate an audience v quickly, common methods like big explosions, fast pace, little intial plot exposition at first, gadgets, hot chicas and so on.

Your son should have a list of stupid media buzzwords written down/typed up for him, if not then either he's not been paying attention or his school is shit. Pepper those about in a liberal but meaningful fashion.

Answer the rather obvious questions that you put :above:, then summarise with an answer that says different people will like different movies because it's all subjective.

IMDB for stuff. Copious notes given by teachers for passing things for other stuff. An hour or so on the pc and he'll have it written. Don't try writing it for him jock, it's easy to spot the differences in grammatical styles if you look at an essay properly.
