A topic about MP3 players

I know theres been discussion elsewhere, but I was wondering what MP3 players you guys would recommend? Budget is £100-125, with a little leeway, but not much. I'm after something 6-10GB, and am currently thinking of getting the iriver H10. Not really fussed about iPods, since the alternatives seem to offer better value for money, and don't have to be used with itunes. Also, the H10 comes with what I believe to be a very nice pair of earphones.
The other alternative in this range seems to be the Zen Micro, but I don't really know much about it.

My good lady friend has a Creative Zen Micro, and tis verreh good. Nice sound quality, slightly wieghtier than an iPod, but it feels more robust as a result. Decent battery life, easy to use, and it doesnt tie you down to iTunes or anything like that.
Fairly decent range of accessories too. We have the Traveldock thingy, tis mighty handy. Speakers/case/travel adaptors and a remote controll. Makes Loud Noises™.
AND! comes in many different colours (which pleased the lady friend immensly).

I use an Archos GMini 202, 20GB (smallest on the market) with no software or drivers to install but fully compatible with iTunes (if you're mad enough to use it), literally just plug it in a USB port and drag & drop, best way in my opinion.
Available from amazon at 129.99 <a href="

Top quality and clear as a bell, also plenty of space for storing files too!

i have a zen micro and they are easy to use and it sorts out the songs for you. They charge easy and can be cheap depending on the shop.

This sounds right up your street, i have one myself
-Faaaaaar superior sound to i(likeitupthearse)pods
-6GB (Two more than the nano incase you can't count)
-
35 hours of battery life
-Software *is* useable, you just have to have a relatively fast computer, and it be patched up to date
-The artist link function rocks; play a song, press teh magic button, and it finds songs similar to the one you are listening to (rather like that pandora thing)
-Took me about 3 seconds to upload 40 tracks to it at once (Jimi hendrix bbc sessions-woo!)
-Looks fwap- white on black display, works really well in the dark; doesn't blind you too hard from *Argh my eeyyyeyesss!* moments
-£130 :O
-Did i mention that it looks fwap?
+10 on Music Penis
I've had no problems with mine, the sound is, really, really, good, nice size, fits well in your hand
And it's sony, i like sony.

Yeah - I forgot to mention that one, buts its the other main contender for my monies. I do like the H10 tho, so I think I'll have to go and have a fiddle with them when next in town and see what actually works well in my hand.
Edit: and is that 35 hours of playback time, or just 35 hours of looking good?

35 hours does sound unlikely. The rest of the review

I don't know if this would be in your budget, but the Zen Sleek Photo is just pure sexy and holds 20GB. A friend of mine has one and I want one bad.

Bit expensive I think, but also fairly ugly IMO
Edit: Also, not at all bothered about pics, to me it seems completely redundant in terms of a portable entertainment device, but would be far more interested in video. However, once again, budget won't allow for it I reckon.

Ubar-budget option (Warning: Contains iPod)
I use the iPod shuffle 512mb (Cheapo) edition.
Sure, its not much music, but damn is that thing small. So basically every few days/week I'll upload a couple of playlists (About 150tracks total?) and listen it through on shuffle mode. My main bonus is the damn tininess of the thing, you don't notice it in your pocket. Oh and also its just gotten a lot cheaper Less than £50 now I think?
Edit: also got a battery life of 10+hours (Advertised at 12, but its never ran out quicker than 10 so pretty good for its age)

Also, if you are after a small tiny MP3 player, then I bought this
Pebble 1GB for my missus, and it rocks!
