Aaaargh the Windows, help needed!

I got a BSOD, ths is the 3rd time it's appeared after I inserted a CD in my old CDR/DVD combo drive (not every time though) this is the error:
Now I have no idea what any of this is and after some googling the only reference to this problem is on Windows 2000 when using an Iomega zip drive, I am using neither.

But I did find out that in order to resolve the problem I need to look at:
Wha?

check for hardware conflicts

try put that drive on a different ide channel

or get over it and spend £3.50 on a new drive

I got a collection of his short stories for about 20p from a charity shop once. Ive since seen it at a great many other charity shops.

Charity shops + Buying books = Win.

The first one I (and most people) read is The Call of Cthulhu, but Lovecraft only ever wrote short stories so just grab a compilation. There's a few out there, and many of them contain the works of some of his correspondents such as August Derleth. A lot of people don't like the stuff the other writers did because they add stuff relating to ancient human mythos (what's plural for mythos?), whereas Lovecraft was trying to make the point that humanity was a mostly unnoticed and very insignificant race in a dark and uncaring universe. Personally I'm not that picky.
The thing to remember while reading Lovecraft is that it was written in the 1920s, and so while some of the things he wrote seem like horror cliches they only appear so because of how influential he has been on the horror genre - particularly in the 70s and 80s.

I'd recommend The Call of Cthulhu (as mentionied earlier), The Thing in the Attic, Tales from the Witch House, The Colour out of Space, and Shadow Over Innsmouth just from memory. Shadow Over Innsmouth in particular for anyone who has or is planning to play Dark Corners Of THe Earth, as the game is based on this story. It's also where my Deep One reference comes from.
