So all in all, it's looking very busy, with 5punk churning out 5.5GB of bandwidth a month, that's pretty impressive.
But we need more members!!!!

It's all the bastards that don't contribute, and just use the flash games.
I say you need at least 50 to use the games section, that'd get some of the fuckers posting.

Only 5 out of the 55 within the last 24 hours are people who've only play on the games as far as I can see.

i think they should post 50 and be a regular gamer to be allowed in or kick them out

50 is a lot. Even berk or WEY would take (on average) 10 days to post that much, most of the rest of us would take a month or more.

25 or 30 then?

That's just silly, 5punk is a nice friendly place, if you start imposing restrictions based on post counts then..
Look, just NO.

I reckon 2 or 3, just to make them say hello, but advertise it as "some". Spamming doesn't count as proper posting either, but then that cancels out half of Berks total too
Anyway, if one in 20 of the arcaders becomes a fully-fledged 5punker its still pretty good, and the more people that use the arcade, the more people will tell their mates etc etc.
Having non-contributing users doesn't exactly detract from our usage of the site anyway, so I wouldn't be too fussed.

I think sol does kinda make a good point (as i made a while ago, with equally cunty reception) but as it is, there's not much need for it Right now.
however, i figure it's still a good thought for the future.
Though, if you make people post 1 message on the introduce yourself forum before they can get into the arcade, they're actually likely to venture into the forums and see what 5punk is about.
Continue your mindless bullying of sol and leave me out of it.

My initial reaction would be bobbins and lats but thinking about it "suggesting" they do one post in the intro section before they can play might be a good idea. Especially if that suggestion times out after a day or so and lets them play without posting anyway. Just throwing the idea out there.

I dunno about this. Its very hard to define an active member. I post on here fairly regularly (And read it almost daily).. but I hardly ever find myself the time or impoteous to get into any games at the moment (Oblivion looks waaay too tempting, I'll almost certainly get addicted and fail my exams).
So, all in all, I just go here for the chit-chat, and to keep up on what games to get once the exams are out of the way, and of course for the friendliness like Bobbins says. We'd like to think one post on the 'Introduce Yourself' Forum would bring people in, but it would more likely become a forum full of people just posting their obligatory message to have a go on the arcade, and we'd never see them again; meaning that we'd never want to read the 'Introduce yourself' Forum and making it an impossible situation. I think the current system is fine, except maybe the cute kittens tester thing (as mentioned on Discussion board, canne' find link right now though) should be added to the registration, just to prove they're 5punky enough.

Hmm. Just because I said we needed more
active members doesn't mean I felt we should horse them, just that it would be nice

Perhaps a good idea would be to limit the ammount of games they could play, depending on posts
ie 1-10 posts: 4 games
20-40 posts: 20 games... etc etc
Please don't own me on this, i'm going by the rule 'there is no such thing as a bad idea'
