So if we want to use 4gb RAM+ 1gb VRAM* it requires a 64bit OS?

*well use all 5gb instead of the 4gb max

I was reading this earlier on. I'm starting to wonder whether I should go with Fista 64 on my next PC since I'll likely end up with 4gb of ram and 1gb of vram. I can get a copy for free through uni so I suppose it won't hurt to try...

Is Fista still slower than XP in frame rates and general usage these days?

From what I've heard, they're about equal now, Half looking at Fista myself, just for a change really.

Yeah now that Service Pack 1 is out and they've fixed a lot of things, Fista64 isn't looking so bad anymore. That and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky are making it tempting to upgrade.

I was under the impression that a 64bit OS required a 64bit processor, or have they made it so they work on 32bit systems too?

you need a 64 bit processor.

If you really want more than 4gb supported on a 32bit windows os, I think 2k3 enterprise server R2 will support it. but allow a few hours for getting everything to work.

It does require a 64-bit CPU, and everything made after the Athlon 64 and Pentium D are 64-bit.
