I'm quite similar to you there bob - Dark Elf, custom class Majik Ninja (Blade, Block, Destruction, Sneak, Security, Restoration, Heavy Armour), born under Mage and have closed 1 Gate.

Also own the mages guild, arena, nearly the dark brotherhood, and am level 22. Wish I hadn't chosen security as a main skill now tho, since I can cast spells to open every level of lock so its a bit of a waste. Ho hum!

Im a level 14 knight basic magic but hes hard as nails, so far ive managed to kill 2 Daedra wizards and there little freaky guys and 3 daedra knights in one fight. w00t Oblivion FTW!!!!!!!!!!1

Hehe, nah - jst like the mix of majiks and normal weapons. Plus the fire resistance and ancestor guardian powers are quite useful!

Pfffft. I couldn't bring myself to be a Dark Elf (I can get to the character selection screen, I just can't play the game). I rather fancied being one of them Crimson blokes who're resistant to poison. I always hate being poisoned in games.

Either that or the lizard chaps, they look quite fancy, but I always tend towards hitting things with big sharp pieces of metal in games like this. I might run through it a second time as a lizard (maybe even a lizard wizard) if I really like the game. Do the lizard blokes' tails come off when they get scared?

Dark Elf = Fire resistance
Plane of Oblivion = Flamey things, lava, etc.


I have a level 22 Dark elf thief-mage thing. All gates are closed.

I liked the way cat people can see in the dark (and the taunt the prisoner uses on you at the start). The water-breathing lizards would have been my second choice. I think I might have messed up the mage's guild recommendations, which means I'll have to scrub the last 6 six hours play if I want to get into the University.

Closed one gate, member of thieves, mages, dark brotherhood and fighters guilds in that order. Never used a torch or a healing potion, only slept four hours (2 for level, 2 for dark brotherhood)

Bit confused about soul gems - not sure how to charge them, having been buying charged ones to refill my sword.

how do you become a member of the dark brotherhood is that the people who stole the "thingy of kings"

No, thats another group - I forget their name just now. To contact the Dark Brotherhood, try to sleep at night after killing in cold blood.
