WASD in Oblivion

Some of you may remember
"another epic insight to the crazy world of FatherJack", where I detailed my lack of experience with the WASD key combination.
Probelm is, that Oblivion won't let you remap movement actions to the mouse (unless maybe I get teh hax out) so either I have to learn WASD, or maybe some of you guys have found a more comfortable config.
My main dislike of WASD, aside from my lack of practice with it is that my brain seems to spack out when running and strafing at the same time, particularly when running backwards, as it involves pressing two keys at once and I get confused, plus it means I need to use my ring finger, which isn't used to pressing anything.

Why on earth would you use the mouse for movement? Unless you're ten years ago, I mean.
Seriously, though, WASD has proven to be the best for fluid movement.

Yup. Just takes practice dude, you'll get used to it.

I find holding down the right mouse button constantly, for a game like CSS where you're *always* moving is more comfortable for long periods than holding down W.
Only having to use two fingers on your left hand for strafing using Z and X is a micro-movement, whereas WASD slightly shifts the weight on your palm, and (in my case at least) really makes your wrist ache after playing for hours.
Mainly, though - it's what I'm used to and what my muscles have adjusted to after having gone through the initial pain barrier years ago - (I'm already aching a bit after only an hour or so of Oblivion, which is why I've come for a quick post, rather than continue playing it) - it's only about the third game ever I haven't been able to remap to my preference - the others being (predictably) console conversions - MDK and FFXI off the top of my head, I think I managed to hack The Suffering into submission.

I could do arrow keys if there wasn't a wall to the left where I'd need to slide the keyboard to avoid looking like some sort of spacky clapping seal.

Arrow keys my hoop, you leper. I felt unnatural when I moved from Quake to Quake 2, but it becomes natural enough and places a lot more secondary keys at your disposal.
Since I'm feeling all conformist though - I like reverse mouse, as in Flight Sim mode. Up = down etc... Call me freak if you will until I pwn (at a ratio of 12:1) you with my MIGHTY COD POWERS!
\Drunken rant over.

Get the WASD claw - It takes perhaps a month to get used to it, but it really changed my gaming. Ctrl is in a nice place for your little finger to crouch upon, space is in a perfect position to jump with - And that leaves your other hand free to aim, scope and take down cunts!

Wow, I don't remember writing any of that. I'm impressed at how articulate I was though considering I'd had 12 cans of bastard strength beer.

WASD all the way.
Although I used to play Quake against a guy who didnt use a mouse. His hands were going like he was speed typing. I swear he could still pwn most people with his mouseless style.
