Heres one for you.

I've been having lost of issues with hardware stutter recently, on top of the connection error crap, but I want to know if theres a way to reduce or stop it.

I've got an AMD 64 3000+, 6600GT 128MB and 2GB Dual-Channel RAM, and (I think) all settings are on medium.

Particularly at the beginning of maps, but quite often throughout the round, my game sort of stutters its way around, and can be very frustrating. Especially when it settles down again and you discover you've been killed.

This was happening to me in a server I was in last night, despite the fact that for once my ping was only at 50ms, so I can't blame that. I've JFG'dI, and it turns up a few tweaking guides, but I was wondering if theres anything in particular I should do, and which settings will give maximum improvement for minimum loss of shinyness.

/Edit: Cheese Lord? What the hell does that mean!? Not seen that rank before!

Cheese Lord? It means you are Lord of all Cheese, obviously. :cheese:

Also, I'm interested in getting BEEF to run faster too. My biggest problem with hitting anything is the terrible lag, but I shall have a single player game at some point to see if it's hardware or connection that's causing it.

also, it's worth making sure you have your sound settings at medium, even my audigy 2 can't handle high (and overheats if i make it)

Well I've just played a single player map for the first time, with no problems at all, so it must be the connection thing. I'll forward the ports and try the punkbuster thing next time I'm in a multiplayer map.

On another note, I spent most of the map in an attack helicopter and was getting the hang of it by the end. I found the trick was to not use the throttle unless you'r on the way to a loctaion. When trying to attack its easier to manouver when its hovering and you just lean it a bit, and having the throttle 'spare' makes it easier to get out of the way of anything if you need to. I'll wait to see how I fare against real players, and having a gunner is a must.

Next trick to learn - how to circle round a location for maximum pwnage! :)
