Super Mario Bros on a Mac

Ok then knowledge monkies!
My GF asked if its possible to get Super Mario Bros from the N64 to work on a PC, but even better would be on a Mac (I think OSX - I'll confirm when I can) since that what she has and it leaves my PC free for me
. I know nothing about Emulators and ROMs etc, but I'm sure some of you lot do.
Whats the best way to go about getting hold of this type of thing? Is it a case of searching the floor, or are there sites for it? If anyone could point me in the right direction for something reliable then I would be most greatful.
So - go knowledge: GET!

eeee.
I'd swing for
Project64
along with virtual pc of some flavour (or WINE, if it works on a mac)
and a little tiny bit of voodoo.

Ta. I'll investimagate.
What be this vurtyouall peecee of which you speak though, for I know it not (and even less WINE)

WINE isn't so hot unless you're patient, geeky and running an Intel Mac.
Virtual PC doesn't really perform so well - it's handy if you really need an environment to run your keygens in, but 3D isn't really an option (even for relatively primitive stuff like the N64).

Ok then, so I want an emulator specifically for the mac then?

http://www.zophar.net/mac/n64.html has some, but i expect they'll be less well developed than a PC version

Ok then, I'll try a few and see what happens.
Next thing then: ROMs. Where do you pick them up from, and how do you run them?

google.
and it depends on the emulator. usually you just have to open or load the rom like a file

Gah. Cutting a long, frustrating story short, it turns out she wants Super Mario Bros 1 from the nes. Found it and just need the emulator for the mac now, but to get to this point I worked through every Mario game made on every console from the N64 back.
Baring that other topic elsewhere in mind, I choose my words carefully when I say GODDAMN BLOODY USELESS WOMAN!
I may have interested her in psychonauts tho - its just the first person games she doesn't like since they make her feel sick. Bless.

It's pretty common for people to get motion sickness from FPS games. (may i suggest F-Zero of some ilk to really make a mess?) though, if she's just not used to it, it can easily be fixed by playing more.

My mum used to get motion sickness from watching me and my bro playing GT2 on the playstation. Didn't help that I always used the bumper view!
On a marginally related note, has a decent emulator for the PS (Or even better, PS2) been made for the PC yet?

IIRC there was an actual (unofficial) PC version of that, but given it's age should run fine emulated on PC or Mac.
romunation.net and coolrom.com have lots of ROMs I noticed when looking for Saturn ISOs last week, the search thing in the left panel seems to find them easier than browsing through the menus, probably deliberately. I expect those sites have the usual vote/popup bollocks, but I don't see them myself due a combination of Firefox + stuff.
