Can I just say how utterly fucking Woo this mod is.
Anybody else fancy giving the new version a go?
http://www.5punk.co.uk/downloads/Half-L ... Alpha1.zip 88.26 MB

The only bad point I found was that I was playing on a server, and it seemes there was no spawn protection enabled, so there were quite a few cases of spawn camping going on.
Odd Job FTW!

I'm game. Does it require Vapour tho? Cos I never got it to work for the VIP mod, so just played with the stuff that was downloaded from the server. If it is vapour, is there a way around it?

I'd join a game if there's one going. I had another go at the weekend and it's fun for a while.

I really must get my Half-Life 2 based games fixed. Apparently I spack quite badly in CS:S, although it appears fine for me. I may have asked this before (and I think someone suggested it may have been my firewall) but has anyone any idea what I can do?

I'd consider uninstalling Steam, after deleting all the local content for all the games, and reloading it if I were you.
As long as you kick off the game updates in the morning, they will all be finished by the time you get home, so it's the safest way of knowing everything is as it should be.
P.S. I have updated the top post with the download links for the mod

Cheers for the uploads WEY.
This is my first veture into the world of mods for CS:S, so how does it work? Where do I unzip the files to, how do I choose to start the game, and does it need uninstalling before I can play normal CS:S again, or does it appear as a seperate game in the steam menu?

Install the goldeneye folder from the zip file into (from memory)
C:\program files\valve\steam\hl2\mods\
That might not be exact, but close enough to find what you are looking for.
Then run the patch exe file, and update the mod.
Then fire up Steam, and it will appear in your list of games just underneath CS:S & HL2 etc...
Launch the game, and find a server, and hey presto, you're shooting people whilst running round in a bowler hat.

It's probably more like, if you kept the standard path:
C:\program files\valve\[email_address]\steam\source mods\

Your guesses were close enough for me to find it. Its good fun - the maps are really well reproduced - I had the weirdest feeling of deja vu when playing.
If theres a few people interested then I think we should 5chedule something.

Actually I belive it's C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods
Also Dog Pants, next time you play CS:S, turn on net_graph 3 and see what your choke & loss are. You probably need to tweak your rate, cl_cmdrate, and cl_updaterate settings to make it run better.

Do the what now? These are console commands I take it. Do I just type them in as you've typed them there? If not can you give me a quick brief on how?
Ta though, I'll give that a go first - easier than re-installing Steam
