Our current plans are to release the map pack separate from the patch. The map pack will contain several (don't ask which yet) maps that have been converted from Call of Duty to including LMG points, new mode support, and adjustments in flow to support the new modes. The map pack will also include new map content.
The number of maps ultimately converted from CoD and brand new content is not finalized yet as we are still testing it now and will make final decisions on what is included or not over the next week.
The map pack will only contain maps (no patch assets or other updates). The overall size of the map pack will likely be around 20-25 MB. We plan to have the map pack out in the next few weeks (not this week, or next, but soon).
As we lock down the exact maps that will be included we will update you here. From those that monitor the Visioneer server map rotations you'll probably get ideas about which ones we are testing.
The patch size will be over 170MB. So we are concerned about the patch size and what extra assets could be released separately (i.e. additional map content to be released in the mappack).
The patch contains several modifications to the .BSP files (maps) on both shipping SP and MP maps to resolve issues noted in feedback. The .BSP formatting unfortunately restructures all the data when it is written back out based on revisions so even minimal changes horse a full update of the file rather then just a binary update on what changed. Since that is the case the patch size is rather large even though in the end it won't really increase the install size on your computer by very much.
