Monies dilemma

If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

Monies dilemma

Post by Joose »

ok, so ive got about £150 sat in paypal, earning interest for fat americans, and ive decided to rectify this with some eBaying.

The dilemma is this: I could, just about, get a psp and maybe a game or two for that many monies. However, my ailing computer is in need of help.

at the moment im running an Athlon 2500+, with a gig of ram and a 9800pro. Is it worth spending 150 on, or shall I wait till i have more disposable monies (in a few months) and just get a whole new computer?

If an upgrade, what?

how fast is the ram? (it could have implications on what upgrading to do)

the memory is 2x512meg blocks of PC2700 DDR-SDRAM, and the motherboard is an MSI K7N2. I think.

As far as the PSP goes, how long would you actually spend playing it? I recently calculated that approximately 0% of my average week was I in a position to operate a handheld games console, as I drive everywhere I go and er.. do stuff when I get there.

I'm currently unemployed. I've got all the time in the world.

in my opinion you should upgrade to 64bit cpu. My AMD Athlon 64 3000+ and Gigabyte K8-MF mobo cost me 130 quid from ebuyer

really comes down to current spec.

there's no need to go x64 if you have a crappy AGP card (and you'll be wasting money on an agp mobo)

however, 7800GSs will add a lot of life to an older but still alive machine.
