Beardy types and general fantasy fans might enjoy this:
The Worlds of Fantasy @ iPlayer
If you're not into fantasy at least check out Terry Pratchett's monitor setup at 3:20mins. Not the most amazing but impressive for an old bloke.

Good call. I watched the one last week on Tolkien and Mervyn Peake. Rather good, I've added Gormenghast to my book list as a result.

I really enjoyed the Gormenghast mini-series from a few years ago. It inspired me to get the books but they were just too long and wordy for me to deal with.

That mini series was rather good wasn't it. I kept meaning to get the books, but never did.

I've dug out my DVD to watch again after watching a clip on Youtube.

I love his books but in person Pratchett is a cock. I met him at a book signing a few years ago and got him to sign a copy of jingo, he was so full of himself and full of disdain for the people around him. The very people who read his books and made him his fortune and I couldn't help but dislike him because of his attitude.
It may just have been he was in a bad mood for whatever reason, or that he was suffering under the god complex because of all the uber beardy fans around him, but given it was a special signing in a pub that his own friend owned and not a lengthy tour he could easily have been less of a self-righteous dick for that one afternoon/night.

Fucking this! I went right off his books after meeting him. Egotistical cock piece that he is.
Never meet your heroes as they say.

Virgin don't carry Sky One - any chance of someone taping Colour of Magic on betamax for me and sending it through the magic of the pony express?
Sky One has been complete arse since ever, but as soon as I get rid of it they have a premiere of a UK series I want to see.

Panic over. It's free on Sky Anytime, which my Dad let me subscribe to with his details. I also recorded it on DVD at his house (and will again tomorrow) so I could maybe host it if there's any interest.

I'm interested but I'll be stealing it from the usual sources. When is it on? And will David Jason attempt to lean on the counter of the fanciest bar in Ankh Morpork only to fall through it because the counter top is raised?

6pm-8pm Sky One Sun 23rd and Mon 24th of March 2008. Anytime says available for 267 days.
I don't know how well DJ did in the previous one they did, the Hogfather as I haven't read that book yet and didn't want to spoil it by watching the TV version first.

I didn't realise it was this weekend. Since I switched to Virgin I don't get the feverish advertising for it. Download of part one from uknova started.
DJ's part in the last one wasn't so prominent but he did okay. He seems to be the star of this new one, but I imagined Rincewind to be younger.

I have this problem with Sky. Does anyone know how to get rid of the dobbing big advert thing in the top right hand corner of the screen?

Switch to another provider? Does this happen on channels other than Sky# then?

Colour me interested!
I want to see this because I love Discworld, but was disappointed by the version of the Hogfather they did - the few attempts at humour were way off the mark from what they should have been. David Jason wasn't quite right for it, and I can't see him as a Rincewind earlier. Me and Roman were chatting about this and the only suggestion for an alternative Rincewind was Hugh Laurie. Who else could have been cast?

I loved Nobby though, fantastic acting, very subtle humour.

The press red thing? Either press backup or the big sky button up the top of the remote. Failing that press the red button. You know you want to.
