You just discovered that? It's a very weak zombie/budget lite finale to the series. After the mediocre second one I thought they'd look at alice as a bio weapon a bit moar, but it's rushed/hurried/shit. the bit with the crows is okay though.

For some reason I was expecting more. I don't know if my memory is poor, but I thought Resident Evil had been good so far. Perhaps I've only seen the first one. It seemed to be an exercise in special effects and fight scenes.
I needed much willpower to see this film through to the end, not many films are that shit.

You've probably only seen the first one, because I thought the second was shit too. I had vague hopes that this one would redeem the series, but I expexted this. To sum up my thoguhts of the three:
Resident Evil: Refreshingly modern take on the zombie genre. High budget, action heavy, but still faithful enough to its zombie roots to give it that dark and desperate feel that make zombie films great. I loved it.
Resident Evil: Apocalypse: Oh dear. Obviously zombies aren't scary enough for the 12 year old who wrote this script, so they decided to leave them in the background (in fact forget about them half way through the film). "I know, lets make one massive zombie and put bazookas and miniguns on him!!!!!ONE!!" thought the writer, it would seem. "And then lets make the girl ubar!!!!!".

The Nemesis project is acually cannon as far as the games go, but apocalypse was them really taking liberties with the lisence. Still, I enjoy cheezy cringe worthy action films, so I enjoyed it.

A film ought to take liberties with the license, as games rarely make for good films. The first film was set before any of the games wasn't it? The second probably tried to crowbar too much game into it - all it was missing was an Uwe Boll style in-game scene
I did like the bit where the bridge was sealed off though and the city's population is trying to escape. The zombies started catching up with the back end of the crowd and you can see the panic spread like a wave. If it had more like that and less superhero shite it'd have been a great film.

the only thing i liked about apocalypse was sienna guillory in her jill valentine costume. that's about it. i didn't like the first one much either, i thought the zombies were very unrealistic, mainly due to bad make-up, and didn't contain enough gore. but it's a long time since i've seen it, i was quite young and probably only watched it because i knew it had milla jovovich and zombies in it.

So was Extinction the last in the franchise, since it seems to set up for yet another film.
I just keep on watching them because despite being shit, how are you supposed to turn down a movie with zombies and milla jovovich?

Easy, you decide that they're utter tripe and vow never to watch them again. See also: Blade Trinity.

pffft... doesn't hold a candle to Milla. Mainly because she dates uber-twat Justin Timbercakes.

the whole series is wank.
the liberties taken with the story line are ridiculous, all it has in common is the zombie theme, and a couple of characters
i would much rather have had it be cannon, i guess then people that have played the games are going to know exactly what happens the whole way through, but i'd rather see a live action version of what happens in the games than that pile of turd

I got the impression the first film was more or less canon, although not having played any of the games for more than about half an hour on account of their testicle-retractingly bad control system I can only take the word of others for this. I thought that it was the story of how the T-virus escaped. Either way, I thought the first was a good, polished action/zombie thriller. I've already expressed my views on the second earlier in this thread.
