This man knows ^
I think a couple of people have given these builds a go and been pretty happy. Which will come first though, bits or broadband?

Good grief - if you get that then it's certainly not money that is your problem. All that, and only 300GB of storage, no monitor and 2GB of RAM.

OMGWTFBBQ!
THAT kind of money is a problem, that's half a deposit on a house!
Not buying a new system, though that did make me /drool, just bits to upgrade mine.
**EDIT**
Just been looking through overclockers. This is what I have decided upon, what do you think? there must be some glaring error that I have missed...

That q6600 is a waste of money imo. A normal non 'pro' version will oc to 3ghz per core without any troubles.
If you get an evga 8800, then you might luck out on the upgrade program they run and be in line to buy a 9xxx series card. If your not bothered then the bfg offers very good bang for buck, it's very close to gtx speeds and plenty cheaper.
The mobo is nice but are you going to be oc'ing all the time? If not you don't need to buy a mobo like that. If you want the whole 45nm thing then the x38 boards at overclockers are all crossfire and you are getting an nvidia gpu so you might want to look for an sli version of a x38 chipset mobo (if they exist, I'm not sure) in case you want to get another gts.
Related note, if you're going to oc then that ram needs to be faster, if not then it's a good choice.

Hmmm, overclocking, there's something I'd not considered doing to this machine yet...

looks like they've fucked with stuff recently. just get a
G0 SLACR.
I also wouldn't worry that much about the ram, I run ram at 800mhz and cpu at 3ghz with no issues.

Personally, I'd still take the Q6600 (as you'll easily get 3ghz from it) just not the verified overclocker one.
and avoid that soundcard like it has aids and wants you to lick its seeping boils - it'll be little better than onboard.

At a bit of a loss for a sound card, they either seem to be cheap or expensive, I have an old sound blaster in my machine at the moment but Fista doesn't like it. What do you recommend?
