I get a nice bonus soon, and seeing as I blew the last one on my wedding I'm going to treat myself this time. My options are an upgrade for my desktop or a new laptop. The laptop needs an upgrade more than the desktop, but I use it a lot less so it's of roughly the same value to me. So, since I hate throwing away good hardware, or giving it away to family who don't appreciate it, I thought I'd throw the offer open to you lot to help me decide which to do.

Does anyone want to give me an offer (between £0 and £50 - I'm not after much and I'll give them away if need be) on:

(I think) An Asus AN8 SLi Deluxe mobo with Athlon 4000+, 2gb of 3200 RAM, and a BFG 7900GT. Basically the beating heart of my current machine.

or

An Acer Aspire1353XC (40", Athlon 2400, 20gb HDD, cdr/w/DVD player combo, upgraded to 512mb RAM)


Or any other suggestions on what to do with whatever I replace.

You'd probably get moar on fleabay, that's if you can be bothered though.

I'm using my old rig to flesh out my parents ageing dell, I could make a little bit of money, but it's too much hassle.

Lat might want the lappy, he needs one for his missus so she stops using his pc and he can play gaems with us!

That's what made me think about the laptop option. It's a bit below spec for what he wants but it'd probably do the trick.

Indeed, Chickenz just made me a good offer on my desktop gubbins. With that towards my upgrade I can still afford the new laptop, so that offer's still there.
