About time too, really.
Of course, my cousin might feel differently. He loves GTA, the little scamp.

Well adults can decide to buy it for him, if they decide he's not going to nick a load of cars and kill a bunch of hookers after playing it. This is as it should be. (Parents deciding, not bloody trails of dead prossies and automotive carnage)

Proper laws will mean all the moaners will stop moaning, and that proven 18+ people can buy proper dirty stuff like on the internet.

About time the emphasis was on the people buying and selling the games, and not the ones making them.

You lot think this changes anything? It's like you cannot buy alcohol and cigarettes legally under 18. I can go into any little shop or inn or pub or whatever and they will serve me without a goddamn question.

Not in the UK you can't. Some will, sure, but spot checks are carried out here with pretty hefty fines for those who break the law. I expect it's the same with films and, by extension, games. Mrs Pants holds an off-premise license, which she had to go to court to get. She's pretty vocal about this sort of thing (mind you, she's female so she's vocal about lots of things).

A screamer, eh?

not to mention, games are new and scary, so there'll be lots of checks on them, and hefty fines for people misbehaving.

I imagine the high street stores will ask parents/adults buying games if they realise what its rating is, and and ask for ID from anyone else.

I would guess/remember that it's for the sale of booze to be drunk away from the place it was bought. A lot of pubs hold a restricted licence that means they have to open bottles so people can't buy it and go home.

Indeed, it means she can sell alcohol to be consumed off premises, hence the term off-license. She couldn't put her name over a pub door though because it doesn't cover consumption on the premises.

So does your missus run an off-licence? That would be all kinds of win!

Nah, she was a sort of supervisor/manager in a Co-op. They got her the license for some reason.

Oh, I was hoping we could start a sort of 5punk off-license or something. I couldn't really promise not to consume while on the premises, though.
