I am to scared to even think about going into 0.0 space (after last time) but would like to know what everyone is up to.

Deep 0.0 shouldn't be too bad - bad guys have a long way to go through enemy territory before they'll get to us, and as 0.0 is mostly empty I think it's unlikely a ganker will just stumble across us.

Mining and ratting in 0.0 however is a different matter. Our miners will now need to be escorted by a tanked BS who can just sit and soak the fire from the (big, nasty) rats while everyone else gets on with the operation. As for ratting, I don't know. I'm going to try hit-and-runs in my BC I think and take down some of the softer targets before the BSs get me.

Bs spawns you want to be very careful with in a BC. Cruiser spawns are fairly easy in them, but some of the serpentis battleships back in fountain were putting up a damn good tank against me, but I don't know if it's posible for a cyclone alone to break it. 2 or 3 cyclones might be a different story however...

How big are the spawns generally? Will there be areas where I can hunt cruisers without having to worry about a big bad battleship turning up and battering me?

I'm just trying to think about how the move to deep space will affect my means of earning money. I'm assuming that I'm going to be encountering spawns that I won't be able to handle, so I'm trying to find a way to still go ratting and not lose more ships than I gain.

The honest answer is, just avoid the BS spawns. Each cruiser spawn can net you up to 400K, so you shouldn't have too much trouble making isk.

The ISS Marganis is referred to as an outpost by ISS, which I'm assuming is the famous player built station. So, as a player owned structure is a POS would a player owned outpost be a POO?

Yes, the Marganis is a really big POO. In fact, it was the first really big POO in EVE.
