I has a deagle

Finally I have unlocked the Desert Eagle, and it is win.
Not quite the instrument of pwnage it is in CS:S, but maybe that will come with another 144 hours of practice - it does however function quite similarly to it's sourcey counterpart.
I tried picked-up ones before, and haven't noticed any difference with it since the patch, so I disagree with those who say it is rubbish and weak - I've seen some of your killcams using it, and
It certainly requires a very different style of play to what I've been using and is only effective in certain circumstances on certain maps.

I think the problem with the deagle in cod is that for most people the pistol is the emergency sidearm, so it just gets fired wildly in the hope the other fuck will die.
I'm sure the deagle is very good when treated as a sniper cannon.

The Deagle is a tad better imo since the patch, I've been using it religiously since I got it before 1.3.
Even so, it's not a spam weapon like the other pistols are, it's recoil is far too big unless you're point blank.
Nice slow aimed shots rock however and drop anyone not with jugganaut in 2 shots to the body/arm/leg.

Deagle would be a cannon with last stand. The question is would you be willing to sacrifice a more decent sidearm (SMG/Shotgun?) just FOR last stand?

Only if you use overkill, I don't, so I wouldn't be making the sacrifice, but Matyrdom is much more effective imo.
Besides, the Colt 1911 is probably a better last stand weapon due to the fact you can spam the 7 bullets it carries, the Deagle is only better if you've got good self control and have practiced with it so you hit the target rather than chucking bullets into oblivion.

Well yes, you're sacrificing nothing then.
Matyrdom is only affective if some people who are known for cluelessly wandering into matyrdom nades are cluelessly wandering into matyrdom nades. Last stand is about avoiding to get shot in the head and then going for sure.
As for the Colt 1911 <-> Deagle: if you get stuck in last stand in an area that provides both cover and visibility, it's only a matter of the power of the sidearm imho.

I've got a deagle too now, but I've not used it because I've found the joys of the silenced AK.

I'm not alone it appears. Silenced AK saves the day.

You know, as much as I hate admitting this, Berk's right:
NEVER tell people of win combinations of guns.
I should have let the cries of hax continue and not told everyone of the mahoosive win of the silenced Ak47.

Or, if you do tell them win combos, make sure you only tell them the ones that no other cunts are any good with.

I use the nice shiny gold deagle as my sidearm in every class. The only reason I switch to a pistol is if I've ran out of ammo in the middle of a fight and reloading would take too long, and if I'm in the middle of a fight I've probably done at least some damage, so a quick shot from the deagle will hopefully finish the other person off

I wish Anham would give up whatever he does to a Skorpion to turn it into a sniper rifle.

Either that or the new fixed ACOG, either way, the scorp is crazy accurate.

Well I'll tell everyone my stuff in the hopes that it will make you all suck as badly as me.
I've seen killcams with the LMGs, and I can't tell how people manage to kill anything - that sight jumping around and all the dust is just too offputting for me.
With the deagle, you have to be patient, track your victim, aim for the head and squeeze off a single shot. I don't use the iron sight. Unfortunately if someone else isn't already shooting you, they soon will be. Good perks are the extra ammo, extra bullet damage and steady aim - the first being less important as you don't tend to stay alive very long, so can be switched for extra nades to try to flush out and steer your enemies to somewhere you can see them first.
I used the silent AK47 until I got the AK74u, when I used the silent version of that, both are still good medium range, and with the UAV jammer you can surprise radar-watching enemies.
Sniping bores me, I'll do it on maps I dislike to pick up a few challenge points, but not with any real gusto and it gets double-boring when others start sniping as well.
For range I like the G36C with red-dot sight, fired in short bursts only, and for up close nothing seems to cause more damage/time than a silenced P90 - you seem to have to insert the shotguns into a bodily cavity for them to hurt.
Also were the M4 and M16A1 always burst fire or have they just changed it?

M16 always was. I love the M16 with a red dot sight, turns it into a railgun.

It kills in 2 bullets like most of them, the 3 round burst make it near enough instant death for a neck shot.
