Can anyone advise me on VPN's. Apparently the netcode in Generals is pathetic, and is resulting on me being unable to see the outside world though my router.

A website on the subject suggesting playing via a VPN, but having never attempted them before, Im unsure where to start. Any clues?

Here at work we have our own VPN server running on a Windows 2000 Server, and our own clients to install on the machines.
Unfortunately Google brings up "information overload" when searching for a useful VPN guide, but basically you are better off using a web based service such as the one above, as opposed to installing/configuring clients for hours and hours.

You should be able to try out the built in VPN with Windows XP and another machine, but I have not tried this, so I don't know how good it is.

Sorry I haven't been much help, but I only got involved with VPN at a later date, and don't know a lot about configuring it

I have to use a VPN for work sometimes, when I'm out of the office, but someone else has configured it. The software is Cisco VPN Client and I could probably drop it on the floor if it helps.

We ended up using "Hamachi"..
And it works! So.. That's good.
