From cdwow? DVD was about a tenner more wasn't it? At least it's good to know they're reliable, as I've pointed a few people at their obscenely low prices.

In a way, I'd favour CD versions of games, as it only really hurts you at install-time - I have 2 drives, a CDRW and a DVDRW and it gives me more flexibility if I can leave a couple of discs in when they're required for playing, rather than having to swap the DVD one all the while.

Might just replace with another DVDRW, but the CDRW is a real old-school CloneCD-compatible Sony model, which will rip just about anything. Which of course, it never does, of course. ;)

Yeah, the CD version was a tenner cheaper.

Delivery was quite quick, and I can't complain about the service.

Back to Quake 4 though, I really like it because it's using Doom's technology, but rather than running through the same dark corridor time and time again, without seeing fuck all because it's so dark, this game has "proper" lighting.

Yes, there are a few dark corridors with things that jump out at you, but it's done properly, with plenty of other open areas where you dont need a flash light all the time.

It's a good old fashioned Quake shooter, but with modern graphics, and I found it really good fun.

I haven't played MP yet, as once I do that, I never bother to play the SP game again, and I'm enjoying this more on SP than I did HL2
