It's a year old, and a year (+/- a couple of days) since I got mine. I don't think people are trying that hard to get one. Understandably, since they are not inexpensive the money tends to get spent on other things, but still.
I admit that apart from Argos where I got mine, Woolies and Morrisons, I haven't actually seen one in the wild, and that while these aren't traditionally where gamers shop, they all had stock at RRP (I asked). Obviously can't speak for your neck of the euro-woods, Mr J.
I can't say mine gets much use, although it wiill this Christmas, plus I nearly broke it this week fitting a custom case on it.

is the thing with the wii, they don't seem to get that much use, but they're cheap enough, and small enough just to sit wherever and entertain when needed.

i sorta believe that was nintendo's intention.

Indeed. However, it has universal enough appeal for my mum to ask me to bring mine over at Chrismas. This is my mum who's been telling me I play too many games for the last 20 years and who can barely program the microwave.
Mrs Pants wants Mario Galaxy, so it may get a lot more play then. I only play it rarely because there's so many PC games out I want to play.

Dixon's, the cheek of it! It's 'currys.
digital' now thank you very much!
Also, we have no Wii's, we have an intranet that says nowhere in the company has wii's, and that a lot of other high street retailers are in the same boat. However, like FJ said, some places people don't immediately think of might well have some. However also, if you have one, but don't use it much, I'd suggest you look at current ebay prices and go from there.

I have mine, and although it doesn't get turned on more than a couple of times a week at most, I still very much want to keep it. Once I have more controllers and a few more games then I think it'll be great for entertainment with mates, and I intend to take mine back to my parent's at xmas too. For now, it gets used for Resident Evil 4 occasionally, Super Paper Mario, and a load of 'cube games I've acquired. Like Dog Pants though, PC gaming is too much fun just now.

I've been waiting for 3 months for them to come into stock now. Admittedly I am restricted to buying it from the local shopping centre due to receiving vouchers that I've set aside for my Wii fund.

Glad I got mine a long time ago (launch day). Also Super Mario Galaxy is easily the best platformer I've ever played. Go out and buy it, Wiiboys.

From the blurb I've read it sounds like top co-op multiplayer fun. One person collects teh stars while the other battles the bosses.
Surely that equals quality time with one's other half, and any foolhardy restrictions on monthly game-buying quotum should be disregarded forthwith.

I've not yet seen any game that'd make me play it on my own (I don't even own one, my mate has - but he also has my PS2 as we only play it at his place). The mario coop sounds like another good nintendog innovation in fun gameplay, but I don't like mario. His call out rates are fucking ridiculous and the quality of his work is crap.
He's done loads of porn though. "Fixing" the princess's "boiler".

That'd be funnier if it wasn't true. Seriously, who makes that stuff? It's just wrong.
