Microsoft XP and Halo

I Heard That the Performance is not great when mixing the 2 . . . and I Have to agree in my experience, as when I was on 98 in march it ran Quite good 35+FPS . . . then as soon as Xp was installed I was getting about 20 FPS on a good day with no action on screen
. . . why is it so demanding for a game so old?

I've never understood this either, as you'd of thought being a recent Microsoft made game, that they would design the bloody thing to run well under Windows XP.
I've never ran the game under another O/S so I can't comment on the difference, but it does seem to slow down on occasions, even with my nice new 6800 :!:
Have a look on google, as I've seen a web page once with a number of tweaks you can run to enhance Halo's performance.
