Well I thoroughly enjoyed that
Arsed about alot, but it was fun, mosy enjoyed single player game for a while, although I stepped on an awefull lot of grenades, but wahooo
I thought the Bonus mission was a nice touch, loved charging down that plan with a P90 :D
So whens the expansion out...

I'm having a problem with the fact that you need to overrun an area before it stops spawning enemies. Seems like there's no point actually shooting at any of them, I just feel compelled to run past them all to stop them spawning and let my teammates mop up behind me. I don't find this very entertaining. Luckily the MP game makes it worth the £25 alone.

Rather hard actually.
For a war game, you should be mopping up an area of enemy before moving on like in COD 1/2, the respawning in Cod 4 while not excessive removed alot of the fun as it was just a case of running to objectives as fast as possible.

only found that the respawning became a problem if you wanted to sit back all the time, if you actually push forward to complete the objectives it works much better. May contain Spoylars >> Only time i found it to be a problem was when you run up to the farm house only to find you have to run back, the sheer amount of enemies resulted in me running past them straight to the evac and then just waiting for the rest of the team to catch up.

That's the thing, all you do is push forward. There's no real skill to it, just running and finding a bit of cover to hide behind until your mates catch up. It feels more like rugby than combat. I've got further this time in the hope that it gets better, but I'm still finding it the same.

Just done the sneaky bit. I really enjoyed that - kept the tension up but having the guy lead you through it compensated for me being a spaz when it comes to stealth missions. Then it turns back into normal, constantly spawning, sprinting through the level as fast as you can, COD4.

I strongly suggest picking up a full-auto gun ASAP. That mission is a bitch.

Wasn't too bad, you don't need a full auto weapon anyway, the g3 is on that mission, it's rather effective on the respawning troops.
The end fight is a total bugger to do though.

That's kinda what I mean. Surviving it is much easier with an assault rifle.

Not wanting to do a chikken here, but I found it a piece of piss.
spoilers maybe wrote:I just placed all the claymores staggered along the right hand side behind the carousel, so the enemies I couldn't shoot got bunched up behind the car, then ran into the explosives. I then shot all the rest as they spawned, shoot them off the ropes out the helicopter/as they run round the corner. The only time I got close to overwhelmed was when I ran through them all to get a piece of intel that spawns behind their lines.

I stuck claymores between the cars and just shot the fuckers when they came round the corner, the ones i missed got picked up by the claymores or the other guy

Out of interest what difficulty did everyone play it on? I had it on hardened, expecting to challenged, but I also found it quite easy.
In fact I reckon the first mission was probably hardest - not used to the guns and on a ship that's swaying all over the place.

I played on normal, mainly because I wasn't expecting to enjoy it.

I was playing on normal. I've spent all day trying to entertain myself, and playing COD4 SP was lower on my list of things I'd like to do than cleaning the kitchen and staring blankly at my screen.

Veteran, hardened and easy. 1st time in veteran, 2nd time hardened because I wanted to see if it was a real challenge, not really was the answer. I'm going through on easy to rush through and collect the missing intel whilst stabbing as many people as I can!

The final part wasn't very difficult, I found the bit right after you shoot the bad guy much more difficult.
I played it on regular, because I prefer to take single player games more relaxed, and the game said I should based on my CQB Test time.

I got my cqb time down to 16 or so seconds, and they then took time off for accuracy, which was nice. But it did involve swapping my pistol for the g36, using that, and having the flash bangs prepped as I charged down the stairs.
