I know a bunch of you got the 7 day trial offer from me, but how many of you are still playing?

Just so i can get some numbers to see if setting up a corp will be worth doing

Maybe, I'm waitingb to give World Of Warcraft a try first, before I decide whcih game to go with. I can't really justify to myself playing 2 online games at the same time.

I know what you mean. If i had the funds, i would be playing both.
But to be frank, WoW is a little too like all the other leveling treadmill MMO's out there. A very polished one, admitedly, and certainly the best of the EQ style games, but still a bit...oh, i dunno.

I find EVE a lot less "artifical" than WoW/EQ/all them lot. In EVE, you have safer areas and dodgy areas, if you run in to a dodgy area you'll get in a fight, if you stick to the safer areas your...well...safer. Whereas in the others you're under attack from all sides simply taking a stroll from one place to the next.

Also, EVE has greater flexibility in what you want to do. Want to be a fighter in WoW? get a big sword and kill things.
Want to be a crafter in WoW? Get yourself a big sword and kill things, then skin them.
Want to be a support player (priest etc)? find yourself some mates. And go and kill things.

Whereas in EVE you could go down the miner/builder/researcher thing and become pretty succsessfull while never even owning a gun. Or you can load up a bunch of guns and blow the bejeesus out of things.

The point im trying, somewhat ineffectually, to make, is that EVE is more realistic (in a "maybe in a few thousand years" kinda way), and therefore, i find, more immersive. Unlike WoW, which, even discounting the magic, and fantasy monsters angle, is not, has not, and never will be realistic.

hmm, not sure where that rant came from.

Apart from funds, you just basically outlined all my reasons for not getting WoW, Joose
