Xfire auto patch updatey stuff

So did I but forgot to turn it on. Are these things auto-patching things trustable, I've never used them before, any potential issues?
Maybe it has the patches for Q3A cause I can't find them. Page Not Found, Page Not Found, etc.

GameShadow grabbed that dodgy BeeF2 1.01 patch, which was scary for a while as my stats disappeared, other than that, no probs. Haven't had anything download from XFire yet.
