No Pricks in The Witcher [Censorship]
Action RPG The Witcher is saucy. And has the censored dialogue to prove it! The English version is way toned down to the Polish original. Writer Sande Chen conceedes, saying "My writing partner and I worked on the English adaptatioin of the script (based on the translation from the Polish script). It was edited down considerably, not because of censorship, though." Then why? Oh right, for shits and giggles. TTLG Forums have compared the translated Polish to the watered down English. The differences are striking. That, after the j-u-m-p.

So if anyone ever asks how babies are made, just tell them: "Humans have always hated dwarves and elves." They will totally get it. The clean version doesn't only change the naughty words, but most of the regular words too. Pretty much all the words were changed around, even the prepositions.

I don't feel this has detracted from the story or feel at all. Geralt is still a mean bastard who'd sooner decapitate a priest than see a witch he fucked burned at the stake. The dialogue is pretty poor at some points all the same, but it's still a well written and realised story, and the moral choice/outcome gubbins is outstanding.

Why just the other day I saved a chap from being killed. 4 or 5 hours later I really wished I hadn't.

Er, by english they must mean american version, because I've had that conversation. Also made a joke about politicians being cunts to the princess, I'm smooth like that.

I thought this game was going to be short, then I noticed it had 7 chapters, and I've only just started chapter 4 after quite a bit of playtime. Huzzah for long games with fucking and swearing!

Should cover it. Now I'm further in I can add moar. You can pick to be kickass in swords, or magic, or a bit in each, as per usual, I've made some of my magic strong, and ignored others completely, because they are shit. I've lost count of how many women/vampires/dryads/nymphs I've fucked, but you collect trading card things of people in the game glossary, and you get a 'fucked her' one for each conquest, nice touch.

I keep running out of room in my inventory, and have loads of stuff stored at the innkeeper, but I make lots of ability altering potions and you have to collect herbs/animal parts to mix them.

Money is really fucking tight, and as armour/new weapons is rare, don't blow it on shite at the shop, you can normally find any/everything you need by looking round in barrels, chests etc. But you don't have to spend all your time doing so, so it doesn't get too boring.

When you start a new chapter, the quests flood in, and you seem to pick up more all the time, and it gets really 'aaargh, I can't be bothered' occasionally. But a lot of them can all be sorted into, 'go here kill this, get monies from x' and you can normally kill everything you need in one certain area and you hand the quests in to the same dude a lot, which makes it easier.

As for the far reaching consequences part, I've had first hand experience of what being a selfish cupcake does, I made a fight for myself a SHITLOAD harder by telling a dude to fuck right off (not those exact words, but I did call him a dickhead)

I'm liking it a lot, it didn't feel like it would be epic length when I started, but I'm realising now that it's going to take quite some time to finish, this may put some people off.

I was finally convinced to install the copy I swept a week or so ago, but it's corrupt.

I'm playing a swept version, I think it's the US version, but I'm not sure. Either way I'll be paying for it too. It's a beaut.

I swept a 6.6Gb clone by a PLATiN fellow. Worked fine with crack, applied 1.1a no problem over the crack, didn't fuck it up. It is UK version insofar as it's not subbed to English, it's spoken English, but like I said it still has all the tit, cupcake, cock, dickhead, motherfucker, shit, go plow your mum etc . It is rather win, but I will be spending my 1 game's worth of money on a cod4 disk that's legit.
